Institute of Nursing Education, School of Medical Education, Gandhinagar, Kottayam, functions under the Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), Government of Kerala. Established with the objective of imparting quality nursing education and fostering professional competence, the institution has been a centre of excellence in nursing education and research.
Over the years, INE SME Gandhinagar has nurtured hundreds of nursing professionals who serve in reputed hospitals and healthcare institutions across India and abroad. The School of Medical Education, a self financing college, previously run directly by Mahatma Gandhi University till 2016, came into existence in 1993 with an aim of providing trained human resources in the area of allied medical and health sciences. Now this institution is under the control of Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a Society established by Government of Kerala.
The institution emphasizes holistic development, encouraging students to engage in clinical practice, research, and community outreach programs. With a focus on values, compassion, and professionalism, INE continues to contribute significantly to the healthcare sector.
